For example, “I am studying” or “He is playing.”

The present continuous tense is useful for describing ongoing actions, current activities,

and changes happening now.

On the other hand, stative verbs are verbs that describe a static or unchanging state or condition

of a person or thing. These verbs do not typically describe ongoing actions,

so they are not commonly used in the present continuous tense. Instead,

they are used in the present simple tense to express general truths and stable conditions.

Here are some examples of stative verbs:

– I understand.
– She loves.
– They believe.
– It belongs.

Please note that in some cases, stative verbs can be used as continuous verbs if they express a temporary change or an action that is typically a static state but is happening at the moment.

For example, “I am feeling tired,” where the person is describing their current state of feeling tired, which is temporary.

Grammar Unit 7 ( Second Year of Secondary School )
unit 7 grammar

The present continuous tense and the stative verbs

It describes actions that happens now or in the futures

The present continuous tense is used to talk about actions happening at the current moment or in the near future.

[76
79
post-26333","courses","type-courses","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","course-category-76","course-tag-79
["GET
